Prexis Turbines a division of Prexis (Pty) Ltd., has the ability in the gas turbine industry chain from R & D, design, manufacturing to service, becoming the only gas turbine manufacturer in Africa
Prexis is helping to create a renewable energy future for electricity generation. Our flexible industrial gas turbine power plants are already capable of using completely synthetic and carbon-neutral fuels. They are also capable of combusting hydrogen/natural gas blends with up to 40% hydrogen – and we’re working towards an industrial gas turbine power plant concept for pure hydrogen operations.
Prexis Turbines develops and manufactures advanced, clean, low emissions gas turbine generating sets using the Prexis-P18 series of gas turbines, and the Prexis-P25S cogeneration power plants, Prexis Turbines’ key markets are 1.5MW-10MW power generation solutions for commercial, industrial and the agricultural sectors, as well as the oil and gas, marine and mining industries.
With the vigorous development of the gas turbine generator business, Prexis Turbines, developed a unique customer service concept to push what customers lack, think about what customers think, to do what customers need, understand what customers want, and become what customers expect. In terms of long-term gas turbine power generation services, Prexis Turbines designed, developed and commercialized the first radial gas turbine for industrial use in Africa. Prexis Turbines benefits from 35 years of advanced, continuously furthered, engineering technology and has a culture of innovation and unique expertise in multi-discipline engineering.
The worlds ever increasing demand for power in all its forms
is growing year after year. Prexis Turbines, manufactures, install and maintain
Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines, Wind Turbines, and Hydro Turbines -
they all must run efficiently at maximum output to meet that demand. We push the boundaries of science and technology to develop
innovative energy solutions that improve efficient electricity power generation.
Operating as an energy solutions provider since our inception, we work in the
public’s best interest and toward the betterment of humanity.
We are R&D problem solvers providing independent, premier services to government and industry clients. Our multidisciplinary nature allows us to rapidly assemble diverse teams to tackle problems from multiple directions.
A gas turbine is a combustion engine at the heart of a power plant that can convert natural gas or other liquid fuels to mechanical energy. This energy then drives a generator that produces the electrical energy that moves along power lines to homes and businesses.
A steam turbine is device that extracts thermal energy from pressurized steam and uses it to do mechanical work on a rotating output shaft. Because the turbine generates rotary motion, it is particularly suited to be used to drive electrical generator.
Hydro turbines are devices used in hydroelectric generation plants that transfer the energy from moving water to a rotating shaft to generate electricity. These turbines rotate or spin as a response to water being introduced to their blades. These turbines are essential in hydropower - the process of generating power from water.
Wind turbines use the force of the wind to spin a rotor, which is connected to a generator that creates electricity. The rotor blades work like airplane wings or helicopter rotor blades, with the difference in air pressure on either side of the blade causing the rotor to spin.
Prexis Turbines, through innovative design and together with our partners, we manufacture the most efficient gas turbines for the benefit of end-customers, as the only gas turbine manufacturer on the African continent, we strive to reduce their operating costs, improve their performance, and protect the environment.
